Batch file for testing maps:

  • Hi all, I thought I would share this as I have been using it for a long time now and has helped greatly when testing maps. You can make multiple files up to suit any mod or map. You automatically spawn as either team Allies or Axis depending on which team you select (0, 1 or 2). You could add class in there also if you wanted not that it matters anymore...

    To use:

    • Open up Notepad.
    • Copy and paste the below.
    • Save the file and rename the file extension as .bat

    cd "C:\Program Files (x86)\Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory\et.exe"
    start ET.exe +set fs_game etjump +set sv_pure 0 +set com_hunkmegs 128 +set com_zoneMegs 64 +set sv_punkbuster 0 +wait 100 +devmap axis_jump5 +wait 100 +team 1

  • Thanks for this!

I guess it's pretty obvious but if you've installed ET elsewhere you have to edit the path in cd "C:\Program Files (x86)\Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory\et.exe"

  • Or you can simply use my map starting tool (MS.exe) that is included with ET Mapping IDE.

Set your hotkey in MScfg.ini for fast map reloading.
If your ET is already open then you can reload your current map just by pressing the hotkey.

Args line in MS.exe means additional parameters.
    I usually use these args: +con_drawnotify 1 +developer 1

Use MS.exe in combination with etmin.exe (Hotkey: Alt + Z)
When you do some updates in Radiant, keep your ET open and minimized
and when you need to test just compile your map,
press MS.exe hotkey and maximize your ET with Alt +Z for fastest possible testing!
